US Foods Inventory Management Manager (CHEF'STORE/Retail/Cash and Carry) in Rosemont, Illinois

Job Description:

Basic Purpose-

The Manager, Inventory Management oversees all replenishment activities for ALL categories and related staff. He/she trains staff to drive consistent processes and procedures; manages performance results against established KPI goals; resolves issues, takes corrective actions and makes decisions as needed ensuring a clear line of communication among all stakeholders

Description-

Direct and coordinate the day-to-day activities of the associates to achieve PO accuracy, DIOH, service level, in-stock position and inventory management expectations. Performs inventory management activities in a back-up capacity as needed. Serves as subject matter expert on all categories as it pertains to replenishment.

Monitor and review KPI performance vs. goals (min weekly); provide buyer direction and take corrective action to ensure performance targets are met, maximizing performance.

Serves as a subject matter expert on MS Dynamics and inventory management processes to drive maximum efficiency.

Trains staff on inventory management and replenishment processes, procedures and tools including MS Dynamics and process best practices

Conducts meetings to review issues and determine resolution strategies, resolves issues by taking appropriate actions or escalating as needed.

Conducts quarterly reviews with each direct report to discuss performance and developmental needs.

Serves as subject matter expert for all product categories. Works with CHEF’STORE Merchandising team to maximize growth and profit opportunities tied to inventory management.

Manages and develops personnel (recruitment, interviewing, hiring, terminations, performance reviews, professional development)

Monitors market conditions and instructs Inventory analysts to take action regarding purchase decisions.

Contributes to the creation and modification of processes and procedures relating to activities of inventory management, out of stocks, cost accuracy, forecast accuracy etc.

Schedule and conduct calls, meetings or business reviews with the cash and carry stores, in addition; provide support as needed to roll out new processes or resolve issues.

Qualifications-

Education/Training:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business / Marketing / Finance / Operations or related field required.

Related Experience:

  • Minimum3 years replenishment experience required.
  • Prior foodservice and management experience preferred.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office - especially Microsoft Word and Excel, as well as Microsoft Outlook.
  • Must be extremely organized and analytical
  • Must possess highly developed written/oral communication, management, training and interpersonal skills.

Physical Requirements:

Physical Requirements: Must be able to sit and stand for long periods of time. Limited travel.
