Cummins Allison Product Manager, Currency Automation in Mt. Prospect, Illinois

Cummins-Allison has an immediate need for a Product Manager for Currency Automation Products based at our corporate headquarters in Mt. Prospect, Illinois.

The Product Manager will be responsible for identifying and managing short term product needs, specifying and managing new product introductions as well as setting and managing the long term strategic direction for products and solutions in this area. The ideal candidate will combine solid technical skills in the currency automation space with competency in product management as well as customer interface, marketing, and sales.

Product Manager-Currency Automation Products


• Build market and customer knowledge through customer discussions, sales personnel, research, business contacts, conferences and other market data • Identify and define new models, features, and enhancements for the currency automation product line • Work closely with engineering development on product definition and roadmap • Manage new product introductions and product life cycle (build or buy) through documenting requirements and specifications; developing go-forward strategy; and support commercialization efforts with marketing and training • Manage relationship with other suppliers as new products are introduced in the currency automation area including developing interfaces to third party developers • Interface with executive management on long term strategic direction • Maintain competitive and industry intelligence • Work with sales, marketing, and other internal departments as needed


  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field is required. An MBA is a plus.

  • Experience working with financial institutions, casinos, retail stores and an understanding of the general operations of those environments is highly desirable.

  • Experience developing documents such as market requirements, use cases and development specifications is required.

  • Must be able to understand and analyze customer operations, systems, and work flows.

  • Must have a general understanding of software in the area of its architecture (not coding), machine/user application, integration with other systems, etc.

  • Knowledge of key competition such as companies, technologies, processes, and policies is desirable.

  • Influence management skills are a plus. Candidate must be self-starter and self-completer.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present concepts to technical and non-technical people.

  • Ability to travel up to 10% both domestic and international.
