Transdev Proposal Writer in Lombard, Illinois
The Proposal Writer works with the Business Development and Operations Teams to create innovative technical sales documents in an effort to secure business contracts throughout the U.S. and Canada. The successful Proposal Writer is a creative communicator able to develop influential methods to enhance and articulate our sales message. This position will work on multiple projects simultaneously in a strict deadline environment.
Review Request for Proposals (RFPs) to become familiar with project and required response criteria for proposal.
Work closely with BD project team, particularly Business Development Vice President and Operations staff (as necessary) to identify and develop technical proposal content themes and strategies.
Challenge action items and proposal elements to ensure compliance with project strategies.
Attend tender gate meetings and occasional on-site visits
Write customized content to support technical proposal content themes and strategies.
Customize boiler plate content to meet proposal requirements.
Utilize proposal repository software to insert proposal content in Microsoft Word template.
Education, Licensing, and Certifications :
Degree or equivalent experience.
High school diploma, or GED required.
Experience with writing, proofing and editing required.
Experience working in a fast paced, multi project environment with short deadlines.
Experience with NEMT proposals.
Experience with business development and proposal work preferred.
Skills and Knowledge Required:
Expert level proficiency w/ Word, Excel, and Power Point required.
Ability to coordinate and prioritize conflicting deadlines.
Skills and Knowledge Preferred:
Transportation industry experience.
Proficiency with PMAPS, Photo Shop and Visio is a plus.
- Less than 10% travel.
- Must be able to pass a drug test and a criminal background check.
