Job Description

SilkRoad is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst for a newly created role focused on revenue related accounting and analysis for our global business. This is a mixed commercial and accounting role which reports to our Director of Finance in Chicago and works closely with global management across the business. This role will be instrumental in analyzing our business and ensuring management has meaningful and actionable data to support strategic decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reporting and Analysis

  • Deep dive into our sales, revenue, and customer data to understand and interpret business results

  • Establish timely, meaningful, and actionable reports for management and stakeholders

  • Provide business support to our customer success and sales teams, giving insight into results and recommending actions in an organized and thoughtful manner

  • International Revenue Accounting – responsible for revenue accounting for our overseas businesses, including:

  • Review customer contracts and record contracts in the accounting system to ensure appropriate revenue recognition

  • Review and approve bookings and renewal information recorded by sales team in Salesforce

  • Timely invoicing of customers, collection of accounts receivable, and application of cash payments; escalating issues to management in a timely and efficient manner

  • Manage calculation of commissions and bonuses for overseas sales team

  • Monthly reconciliation of deferred revenue, accounts receivable, and accounts receivable reserves

  • Monitor and report on renewal of customer contracts

  • General

  • Recommend and implement improvements to controls, processes and reporting

  • Use technology to ensure work is performed efficiently

  • Prepare and review additional analysis and reports, and other special projects, as requested

Required Skills

  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to use data to recommend business decisions and strategy

  • Certification or progress towards CPA or international equivalent

  • Keen attention to detail and ability to create repeatable processes

  • Strong organization and time management skills and an ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel; experience with Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics GP and Adaptive Insights desirable

Required Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or other business area

  • Minimum of three years’ accounting experience, preferably in both public accounting and corporate environments

  • Experience working in a SaaS (Software-as-a-Service) or other technology company

  • International accounting experience and / or fluency in French are desirable
