Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented, and motivated Project Manager for immediate employment for the O’Hare Modernization Program office. Responsibilities will include the oversight and management of active projects and tasks, direct coordination and collaboration with the client and other stakeholders, and business development.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Routinely resolves difficult issues with significant financial impact

  • Provides primary consulting services to clients of various sizes

  • Interacts with senior government or public officials and/or executive level clients on significant program matters often requiring coordination between organizations

  • Assesses and manages risk on behalf of the client

  • Provides oversight and direction to AECOM PMs and other staff, client staff and subcontractors

  • Mentors deputy program managers

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering or architecture related field

  • 10+ years of relevant experience with at least 5+ years experience in the design, construction and project management of aviation or related programs

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Project and client management experience including management of multiple projects of significant scope and complexity

  • Basic project management training and PMP certification preferred

  • Due to the nature of this work, U.S. citizenship is required

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer license in IL or licensed Architect in IL

  • Computer proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Project and PM software applications

  • Ability to proactively communicate and lead project or task teams

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills

  • Ability to manage and collaborate across geographically disbursed teams

  • Established client relationships

  • Active participation in local / national professional societies
