As an Investment Product Manager, you will support product strategy, development and management across all asset classes and business areas in the US, retirement DB and DC plans in particular. The Role

The Investment Product Manager will be responsible for the strategic development, lifecycle management and advocacy for WTW’s products.

Product Development

Assist in the strategic development of the business through the development of new pooled funds and enhancements to existing funds to make them attractive in key strategic US markets, in particular, DB and DC retirement.

Document, build, project manage and launch new initiatives approved by the Global Product Committee.

Develop, manage, and socialize business cases for new products and enhancements, including projected revenue, target segments and markets.

Assess and recommend appropriate structures for pooled funds in the US to support the key strategic business initiatives.

Assist in the development of business cases to evaluate new solutions or target new segments in the US. This will involve:

• Undertaking market and competitor research

• Understanding the legal environment

• Assessing the investment, liquidity and operational risks

• Preparing the financial analysis

• Assessing the operational considerations

Ensure products, throughout their lifecycle, have clear customer outcomes, supported by clear & concise business cases and delivered on time within budget.

Guide products and initiatives through the product development process ensuring the appropriate governance approvals are obtained.

Manage the pipeline of new ideas passing through the firm’s product development process.

Product Management

Implement enhancements and modifications to existing solutions working closely with the investment business and client teams.

Perform annual reviews to ensure products continue to attract business and remain fit for purpose, tracking any deviations from the original business case.

Ensure all product documentation is maintained appropriately.

Facilitate distribution of the existing product range.

Keep informed of market pricing, competitor innovations, customer requirements, and regulatory changes in order to make strategic changes to WTW’s products.

Act as a subject matter expert for product initiatives, promote products, and maximize distribution opportunities for new and existing products.

Communicate with senior stakeholders across the business to deliver product solutions and manage changes as required.

Provide training to internal partners as necessary.

The Requirements

  • Minimum of 8 years of financial product development experience required; experience in alternatives preferred but not required.

  • Strong knowledge of fund products and structures in the US retirement marketspace (both DB and DC) and proven ability to develop products for this market.

  • In-depth understanding of the current regulatory issues in the US; awareness and facility with global regulations is a plus.

  • Proven ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects and tasks to successfully meet deadlines.

  • Proactive, team-based and independent professional who can effectively and efficiently support the team while contributing to the advancement of the commercial agenda.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with proven ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Experience in a client-service environment; demonstrated ability to understand client needs and translate into action.

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Progress toward MBA, CFA, CAIA, or financial engineering qualifications preferred.
