Encore Event Technologies is searching for a Network Engineer of Managed Network Services . In this role you will provide support to existing Engineer(s) by assisting them with their existing workloads. Install, implement, configure, upgrade and optimize Encore’s network infrastructures. Recommend future implementations based on technology developments and industry trends. Provide ongoing analysis of the design, installation, configuration and maintenance of network infrastructure and application components to ensure that Encore continues to provide leading edge technology products and services to the meeting and tradeshow industry. Aid in the growth and development of the department by assisting the sales and/or RFP process for future business in the networking engineering/support and contracted network services for events and facilities. Aid in maintaining and improving network documentation for accuracy and consistency. Assist with hands on management and training of NOC and Network Support Personnel. Provide insight and assistance to Network Design, Installations, Upgrades, Troubleshooting, Change Control, Support and Maintenance of various networking systems.

Manage, maintain and support Encore’s hotels network infrastructure environment.

Assist in the design, support, implementation, installation and configuration of hardware and software required to operate Encore’s hotels network infrastructure.

Provide ongoing maintenance, including updates and patches, to hardware and software.

Document issues accurately and escalate to the appropriate level of support, if needed.

Conduct performance monitoring, system health checks, trend analysis and capacity planning.

Develop and maintain SOPs related to technology, installation, administration and maintenance of network.

Assist with formalizing processes and procedures that are out of date or undocumented and work to implement them into Standard Operating Procedures.

Assist in the creation of technical/network training for technical staff, including facilitating training as needed.

Participate in meetings with management, hotel staff, clients, and customers to lend expertise.

Disseminate information and instructions for event specific configurations, issues and peculiarities of Encore’s network within contracted hotels.

Keep management informed of any growth opportunities, project progress, and/or any possible threats/risks to the MNS Department.

Testing and evaluation of the best equipment for various implementations.

Assist the Director, Information Technologies with their workload as directed.

Assist with network outages and/or service recovery.

Responsible for leading key projects as assigned.

Perform other duties as assigned.


5+ years of network engineer experience in the hospitality industry and/or telecommunications industry.

3+ years of management experience in the hospitality technology industry.

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in a related discipline. Industry certifications desired.

High level skill in computer literacy, spreadsheet and word-processing including Microsoft Word and Excel required

Must have working knowledge of various network switching and communication equipment, including core and edge switches, routers, servers, wireless arrays and access points, computer products and their functions.

Knowledge of modern office procedures and methods including telephone communications and record keeping.

Negotiating and problem solving skills required with ability to interact with all levels of management.
