Triton College Assistant Coordinator, Special Projects in River Grove, Illinois

Department: Student Affairs Job Summary/Basic Function: To actively develop job opportunities for WIOA (Workforce Innovation and Opportunities Act) grant participants. To develop strong contacts with employers and routinely follow up with them regarding job opportunities. Duties: 1. Regularly contact employees to discuss services, employer needs and qualifications with personnel representatives. 2. Develop job leads by contacting employers, company contacts and computerized job leads. 3. Refer grant participants to job leads, send resumes of qualified participants to businesses with job leads, and arrange interviews. 4. Participate in all Chicago Cook Workforce Partnership business-related meetings and events. 5. Develop and schedule pre-employment workshops on job search skills. 6. Participate in presentations on- and off-campus, including Triton-related events and classroom workshops and presentations. 7. Schedule appointments with new participants to discuss job search strategies. 8. Other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications: Education: 1. Bachelor's degree in business, counseling, education or related field of study. Skills: 1. Demonstrate competence in working with personnel specialists within business, industry and government. 2. Proven ability to connect with grant participants (students). 3. Ability to develop key business/employer contacts, creating job opportunities Experience: 1. One to two years of work experience in occupational job training, employer relations, pre-employment skills preparation, personnel/human resources, business, education, industry or human services. Preferred Qualifications: Special Instructions to Applicants: 1. Both Position are temporary through September 30, 2017 2. Rate of pay is $16.70 per hour; maximum 28 hours per week 3.
