Software Design Specialist Using an Agile Development methodology, the Software Design Specialist works to design the new applications to take advantage of standard SOA and WSO2 proactices in the design and development of new applications for the Integrated Booking System program. Using industry standards and best-practices, the Software Design Specialist will perform customer requirements discussions, perform requirements planning and estimation; work with the project lead to research and design new applications to meet SOA and WSO2 requirements. Interact with the SCRUM Master for the daily work assignments and track progress to support timely execution of schedules across the project. We are looking for a detailed oriented, well organized, independent individual that can multi-task. The Software Design Specialist will work with various internal teams so effective communication, collaboration, and team work is essential for success. They will define and document all development plans and design specifications and reviews necessary to ensure the release of a fully functional system.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Software Design Specialist will play an integral role in the success of the Government program, specifically she/he will:

  • Break down large/complex problems and be involved and/or lead the process of design and implementation of projects and solutions.

  • Effectively collaborate and communicate with others in the IBS program

  • Research and recommend possible automated software tools

  • Excellent leadership, communication and presentation skills as this position requires working with various members and levels of management



  • Clearance Level Must Possess: Secret

  • Clearance Level Must be able to Obtain: Secret


  • B.S. Degree or equivalent work experience

  • 5+ years of software development in a multi-language development environment

  • Excellent writing, communication, interpersonal skills with a self-starting attitude, team-player, and flexibility.

  • A fast-learner and high degree of creativity and initiatives is expected.

  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills, and short term and long term planning skills.

  • Background in data base and enterprise application implementations in a medium-scale, multi-platform, distributed environment.
