SUMMARYThe Private Banking Advisor is a key member of MB Wealth Management’s elite client service team with the primary responsibility of partnering with Private Client Advisors to provide personalized banking services to MB Wealth Management clients. This position works directly with the bank’s high net worth clients and internal banking partners to oversee the handling of loans and deposit accounts to ensure MB Wealth Management clients have an exceptional banking experience and that their expectations and needs are met.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES These are the most significant job duties performed.   • Partners extensively with Private Client Advisors and engages internal business partners to provide personalized banking services to MB Wealth Management clients.
  • Advises, communicates, and consults with Bank clients about appropriate loan solutions based on client and Bank objectives.
  • Oversees the handling of loan requests and deposit accounts to ensure MB Wealth Management clients have an exceptional banking experience.
  • Participates in all aspects of the credit underwriting process in partnership with the credit analyst team.
  • Partners with Private Client Advisors on other client-centric initiatives and projects.
  • Senior level advisors may also have overdraft decision and approval authority.
  • Complies with security procedures established to ensure safety for employees and customers, to safeguard cash supplies and negotiable items, to protect the privacy of client account information, as well as, follow fraud prevention guidelines established to protect the Bank from unnecessary losses.
  • Understands and complies with all Bank policies and procedures, and federal and state laws and regulations pertinent to this position; stays informed and shares updates on changes with management. Required to successfully complete all required Compliance training.
  • Continuously supports the Bank’s Mission Statement and Core Values. Supervisory Responsibilities This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities but more senior advisors may lead the work of others including, but not limited to, guiding, coaching, mentoring, and training newer/less experienced team members.

Education and Work Experience

Advisor: Bachelor's degree and 3 to 5 years of related experience including identification and understanding the financial needs of high net worth clients; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Completion of formal credit training is preferred.

Senior Advisor: Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of related experience including identification and understanding the financial needs of high net worth clients; or equivalent combination of education & experience. Completion of formal credit training is preferred.

Some local travel is required to other bank and client locations as needed.

Certificates and Licenses Registration with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System & Registry (NMLS Registry) is required upon hire; certain job responsibilities as defined by the SAFE Act may not be performed until registration is complete. Good standing with the NMLS Registry must be maintained.

  • Credit- Knowledge of applicable credit regulations, policies, and procedures; loan analysis, and documentation; financing analysis specific to high net worth clients.
  • Customer Service - Highly professional demeanor. Utilizes various interpersonal styles and communication methods to positively assist and influence customers.
  • Loan Documentation – Ability to read and interpret consumer loan documents and a solid understanding of loan/ banking terms.
  • Product Knowledge - Knowledgeable and stays up to date on the Bank’s products and services.
  • Sales- Utilizes client interviewing and negotiating skills to maintain and expand relationships.
