Reporting to the Global Marketing Manager, Energy & Power Technologies (EPT), the Marketing Specialist will create integrated marketing materials for initiatives and launches aligned with strategies for key vertical markets: solar, wind, energy storage/e-Mobility, oil & gas, power distribution and industrial automation.



Primary responsibilities include develop, support and execute localized marketing campaigns for lead generation, lead nurturing and brand awareness that contribute to sales growth. Collaborate with key stakeholders, as well as both the HQ U.S. Commercial & Industrial marketing team and broader global marketing organization. Effectively budget and track division spending for U.S. and global activities to ensure positive return-on-investment and increase UL's brand awareness across key markets. Conduct ongoing program, trend and market analysis to provide recommendations to improve activities.

Responsibilities:

nnOVERVIEW

n

n

+ Develop and execute EPT local marketing strategies for: tradeshows, webinars, email campaigns, collateral development, e-Newsletters, blogs, social media, video, print & digital advertising, PR and presentations

n

+ Collaborate with internal colleagues (business development, engineering, sales, marketing) on activities aligned with strategies to support business development and sales efforts while achieving consensus and support throughout the process

n

+ Prepare compelling messaging and content for promotions across various channels that supports strategies and brand awareness

n

+ Write, edit and proofread communications copy for accuracy and to ensure consistency of UL brand messaging, positioning, and value proposition

n

+ Develop strategies and create targeted campaigns to proactively nurture leads in marketing automation tool

n

+ Project manage marketing activities to insure project timelines meet business goals

n

+ Communicate project status to key stakeholders

n

+ Coordination with in-house agency and/or external vendors

n

+ Provide support as needed to the global marketing team to execute global strategies with regional emphasis and ensure tactics are aligned with overall EPT goals and adhere to UL brand guidelines

n

+ Track local and global EPT budget to measure annual marketing spend and ensure positive return-on-investment for all activities

n

+ Maintain files for all marketing projects and keep internal portal tools updated with current digital versions

n

+ Fulfill other marketing communications projects as needed


TRADESHOWS & EVENTS

n

+ Coordinate external events for U.S., including tradeshows, webinars, sponsorships, customer summits and workshops

n

+ Collaborate with business development, sales and tradeshow manager to create individual event strategies, messaging, goals and track ROI

n

+ Develop and coordinate booth graphics, collateral and other booth material

n

+ Track all activities in UL tradeshow portal

n

+ May serve as on-site coordinator to ensure seamless event execution


nBRANDING, ADVERTISING & PROMOTION

n

+ Research media channels to cost efficiently reach target markets

n

+ Plan, negotiate, purchase and track print & digital advertising

n

+ Craft marketing campaigns to assist in the launch of new or enhanced service offerings

n

+ Ensure all promotion is consistent with UL brand standards


PUBLIC RELATIONS, SOCIAL MEDIA & THOUGHT LEADERSHIP

+ Support U.S. public relations and media efforts

n

+ Research and help secure speaking opportunities for UL executives and MEs

n

+ Proactively develop relationships with key media/editors in target markets

n

+ Write, edit and proof press releases and social media posts

n

+ Support the development of value-added content by collaborating with engineering, business development and copywriters on whitepapers and blogs


WEBSITE MANAGEMENT

+ Develop and post content on the UL Intranet and EPT website pages, including services, news, events, articles and speaking engagements

n

+ Provide support as needed to the global marketing team, ensuring business-wide programs are effectively deployed via UL digital properties


SALES TOOLS

+ Collaborate with business development, engineering, sales, and global marketing to develop sales tools, such as presentations, brochures, sell sheets, videos and more

n

+ Write content and coordinate layout, collaborate with copywriters and creative staff


LEADS, METRICS & ANALYTICS

+ Ensure leads from promotional efforts are properly managed in marketing automation tool and sales CRM

n

+ Monitor and analyze standard marketing metrics to track, measure and report on the success of marketing initiatives
