Job Title: Design Engineer
Duration: 24 Months
Location: Mossville, IL 61552
Summary: Research and investigate the design, functionality and maintenance of mechanical products, equipment, systems and processes. Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree in engineering required. Ten + years engineering experience required. Skills and Competencies: Creativity, verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem solving ability. Team player and detail oriented. Ability to make sketches, engineering drawings and common computations. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawing, schematics and computer-generated reports. Previous experience with computer applications and software related to engineering field. Major Job Duties and Responsibilities: Research, design, develop, manufacture, and test tools, engines, machines and other mechanical devices. Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, manuals to determine time and cost feasibility to complete projects. Assist drafters in developing the structural design of products using tools, equipment or software.
Position's Contributions to Work Group
Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: - Design and promote new components and sub processes - Remote Control or semi-autonomous feature development - Issue resolution thru triage and troubleshooting - C programming / Simulink modeling software development - Integration of software features taken from models and libraries to create software flash files - Integration of configuration and calibration data - Test plan development and software validation - Software reviews - Ability to work effectively with a culturally diverse work group
Most days consist of individual computer or meetings
The individual must have a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in an accredited Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent technical field
Critical Technical Skills:
Minimum of 4 years of relevant engineering development work experience in the area of robotics, remote control, or autonomous applications development. Specifically, looking for work experience in the areas of software development, systems design or product validation.
Good teamwork, communication, analysis, and troubleshooting skills are required.
Experience with software development tools such as ClearCase, Git, debuggers, and compilers.
The individual should be a self-starter, highly motivated, able to learn at an accelerated pace, and willing to put in the time to get the job done. Desired Qualifications: Experience with modeling tools such as Matlab/Simulink in an embedded software environment
Experience with FMEA processes and a basic knowledge of electronic system failure modes.
Experience developing with embedded real-time software or systems for mobile, earthmoving, agricultural, industrial, or off-highway applications.
Soft Skills Required:
Good communicator, able to work on a team
