ARi Drivetrain Simulation Engineer in East Peoria, Illinois

The Drivetrain Simulation Engineer is responsible to help develop and validate mechanical driveline for off-highway construction equipment via simulation. In this role, the engineer will use proprietary software similar to AMESIM and GTSUITE in addition to using co-simulation with Matlab/Simulink to represent the controls. The Drivetrain Simulation Engineer will be expected to be capable of building models, generating predictions, and interpreting results. This role will be focused on mechanical rotating components, transmission oil systems, and transmission clutches. Physical plant modeling and simulation is typically primary to this role, however Simulink controls involvement may vary by project.

Required Experience:

  • Minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical or Agricultural Engineering, preferably with a focus on hard science dynamics, statistics

  • 3+ years of industry-related professional engineering experience

  • Prior physical modeling

  • Hands-on exposure to mechanical devices

  • Understanding of hydraulics and controls

  • Knowledge of powertrain systems (engines, drivetrains, hydraulics, etc.)

Required Skills:

  • Proficiency with Matlab/Simulink/Stateflow

  • Python

  • Creo

  • Ability to interpret simulation, lab, or machine results and relate to physical principles

  • Ability to manage time efficiently, balance priorities, and meet deadlines

  • Effective communication skills
