Used by analysts across the world, typically within international financial service institutions where Excel is used to analyze and present data. We provide an Excel plugin that allows these financial experts to seamlessly consume our REST-based data and analytics services from within Excel. The Senior Java Developer we select to work on this most critical product would have an appreciation for and understanding of what makes for inherent reliability within a product. A key area of responsibility for the chosen candidate will be that of the server that communicates with our Excel plugin, and manages data and analytics pulled from back-end services. Responsibilities:

+ Define, design and develop new features for our data and analytics service in collaboration with a typically small agile team.

+ Develop unit tests and integrate them with the automated build system to ensure high quality stable releases; Eventually leading to a state of continuous delivery and auto scaling with containers.

+ Evaluate and improve the performance, scalability and robustness of the service as new features are added to it.

+ Document proposed and final designs to create a technical record for developers and a system guide for infrastructure and support teams.

+ Brainstorm with the team to generate ideas " such as feature toggles - for making our code easy to extend, making our system easy to support, and making our application easy to use.


+ Extensive server development experience using J2EE

+ Experience with Java 8, especially functional programming


+ Spring Core experience

+ JSON programming in Java experience (e.g., jackson, swagger)

+ Gradle scripting experience


+ Multi-threaded C++ development

+ Javascript experience using a current framework (e.g., AngularJS, ReactJS, Vue, etc.)
