Description:

Within BlackRock, the Institutional Client Business (“ICB”) is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with sophisticated institutional investors. The ICB Family Office, Foundation and Endowment (FOFE) team focuses on the largest US E&F clients and prospects, large family offices, as well as certain large multi-family offices, delivering the full suite of BlackRock capabilities.

Role:

Reporting to the Head of the Central US FOFE team, the Relationship Manager will develop and cultivate relationships with existing clients and prospects in the target market (Central US – which geographically represents West of Colorado to Pittsburgh, and Minnesota to Texas – truly the center part of the country) and will be based in Chicago. He/she will market a full range of investment options including traditional long-only strategies, alternatives, ETFs, and multi-asset solutions. The role will be fully accountable for the financial results of an assigned book of business, and potentially some management of junior staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Designand implement an aggressive sales strategy for clients and prospects.Meet predetermined targets with the intention of generating new mandates/revenuefor BlackRock.

  • Identifyand diligently pursue new investment opportunities through consultativedialogues with investors. Focus on strategic products for the group aswell as mandates that will have the most commercial impact.

  • Proactivelymanage existing relationships – identify and aggressively defend at-riskbusiness

  • Recordclient activities and opportunities in CRM systems on a timely basis

  • Developproduct fluency across BlackRock's investment options - including fixed income,equity, hedge funds, real estate, private equity, infrastructure, etc.

  • Workcollaboratively with partners within BlackRock to meet clients’ needs andobjectives.

  • Leadsupport staff on assigned accounts to service clients and implement salesstrategy.

  • Mentorjunior team members and contribute to the staff’s overall development.

    Qualifications:

  • 7years of established track record in institutional relationship management andfundraising, preferably with a focus on alternative investments.

  • Deepindustry and investment knowledge. Strong proficiency across a wide range oftraditional and alternative Investment products. Clear awareness of keyissues affecting institutional investors. A working knowledge of ourcompetitors.

  • Anestablished network of Family Office and/or E&F industry relationships, andtheir key stakeholders.

  • BA/BSdegree in related field (Economics, Finance or Accounting). MBA/CFA isdesired.

  • Has,or is willing to obtain, the series 7, 63, and 3 licenses.
