JOB SUMMARY Assists in organizing and implementing activities occurring at
the clinic by performing clinical, clerical, and receptionist duties and
maintaining the efficient function of the department. RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Functions: v Demonstrates a commitment to the mission of Swedish
Covenant Hospital and demonstrates a service orientation and adheres to all
responsibilities and standards of the Hospital. v Access to Protected
Health Information Computer System access is assigned based on managers
access level request and on the minimum necessary described in this job
description. Approved Level F for level of access is given by the system
administrator or the manager of Corporate Health Services department that has
ownership of system/module. See computer Access Control Policy.” 1.
Functions are receptionist, answers phones, route messages, locates staff as
needed, and assist patient and visitors. 2. Maintains patient files,
records and other information. Responsible for general clerical support
functions of department to ensure efficient utilization of time including
complying with policy and procedures on Privacy Practice. 3. Performs
clinical functions within the medical assistant’s sphere of responsibility as
direct by the nurse. Other Functions: 4. Participates
in maintaining an environment conducive to safety, patient comfort and
privacy, as well as employee safety. 5. Observes
established hospital/department policies and procedures, safety, environmental
and infection control standards. 6. Participates in
quality improvement activities/projects. 7. Participates
in department meetings, appropriate inservices, and educational opportunities.
PATIENT CARE/AGE SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES AND STANDARDS This position will
need to recognize growth and development characteristic, needs and behaviors
of early and middle adult patients who have sustained work related
injury/illness and to understand the effect of disability and lost time at
work on injured workers. The ability to identify a variety of issues which
sometimes interfere with the recovery process. QUALIFICATIONS/BASIC JOB
REQUIREMENTS § Education: High school graduate or equivalent. Graduate from
medical assistant school or equivalent
required. § Experience: Minimum one-year hospital experience
and/or experience in ambulatory care
facility. MUST BE FLUENT IN POLISH. § Clinical Skills: Phlebotomy,
ability to do EKG, measurement of vital signs (temperature,
pulse, respiration, blood pressure), height and weight, Drug Testings, Visual
Acuity, Spirometry. Breathalyzer and Audiometry. Secretarial skills:
typing, computer entry, and filing. Good interpersonal and communication
skills. § Flexibility: Sites rotation (cross-training provided) and
flexibility with work schedule. LICENSE/CERTIFICATION § Phlebotomy
certification preferred § Medical Assistant’s certificate preferred
