Inspector I

Inspect incoming purchased parts, articles, materials, and documentation to requirements of technical data and purchase orders. Present inspection packages, including drawings, standards, FAI's, and any additional pertinent information to Inspector II certifying aircraft components. Identify and assist in resolving non-conformances.


Inspect incoming purchased parts, articles, materials, and documentation to requirements of technical data and purchase orders.

Inspect receipt of raw materials, detail parts, kits, components, subassemblies, and major assemblies for visual damage and ensure contents and documentation comply with purchase order, methods documents, and engineering specifications.

Track and maintain accurate shipping/receiving inventory and inspection results using multiple computerized databases and manual filing systems.

Perform stock checks on all suspect discrepant inventory items when requested.

Document discrepancies and coordinate resolution with assigned area of Production, Configuration Management, Engineering, and/or Material Review Board (MRB) as appropriate.

Ensure all inspection documentation and production work instructions are complete and comply with quality system and engineering specifications.

Interpretation and practical application of FAA regulatory requirements.

Assist other inspectors in the performance of their duties with area(s) of qualification.

Job Requirements:

2 years shipping/receiving inspection experience.

1 year aerospace specific experience (Civilian or Military).

Experience working with Authorized Release Certificates (FAA 8130, TCCA Form One, or EASA Form 1).

Experience with industry standard parts and specifications of National Aerospace Standards (NAS), Air Force-Navy Aeronautical Standards (AN), etc.

Experience with FAA, TCCA or EASA audits, assessments or experience working within a AS9100 or AS9120 Quality Management System.

Ability to read and interpret engineering documents (drawings / specification).

Excellent interpersonal skills necessary to work effectively with a variety of individuals and departments.

Experience with technology, telecomm and/or aviation companies are a plus.

Ability to understand and communicate technical concepts quickly and accurately.

Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills with solid attention to detail.

Excellent written and verbal communication.

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment; flexibility.
