          JOB SUMMARY   Performs as a member of the Operating Room team, in technical
          capacities of scrubbing on Neuro surgical cases with the Chicago Back
          Institute physicians.  Assists the Registered Nurse circulator, and acts as a
          resource person for the instrument aid and Operating Room service orderlies.
          RESPONSIBILITIES   Essential Functions   *          Demonstrates a commitment
          to the mission of Swedish Covenant Hospital and demonstrates a service
          orientation and adheres to all responsibilities and standards of the Hospital.
          1.         Prepares the operating room for assigned surgical procedure. 2.
          Intraoperatively assists the operating room team, according to policy. 3.
          Provides patient safety at all times. 4.         Preserves all specimens
          according to policy. 5.         Assists with post-procedure routine and
          reprocessing of instrumentation. 6.         Assists in the orientation of new
          personnel. 7.         Takes on-call” rotation as assigned with a registered
          nurse.   8.         Ensures the proper handling and care of surgical
          instrumentation and equipment. 9.         Assists specialty registered nurse
          in the organization and reordering of supplies, as             assigned by
          Managing PA. 10.       Attends in-services, maintains skills and seeks to
          increase knowledge base.  Attends staff             meetings.   Other
          Functions   11.       Assists the central supply technicians as necessary to
          ensure all trays and implants are         prepared for the scheduled cases.
          12.       Assists in cleaning/restocking of the Operating Room suites as
          needed.   PATIENT CARE/AGE SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS
          Patients vary in age from pediatric to geriatric.  Responsible to meet the
          needs of the pediatric to geriatric patient.   QUALIFICATION/BASIC JOB
          REQUIREMENTS   Successful completion of a course for Operating Room
          Technicians with a Certification or Operating Room Technician certification
          through the examination. One year Operating Room experience preferred.
          Alertness, good communication skills, technical skill with surgical
          procedures, able to perform as a team member, learns quickly, follow
          directions, and good organizational skills. Accuracy in all procedural
          aspects.   LICENSE/CERTIFICATION   Operating Room Technician Certification

          surgical schedule. Retracting/holding instrumentation for long periods of

          pushing carts. Exposure to blood/body fluids or air-borne disease. Exposure to
