Supervision & Coordination

Recruit and hire qualified ESL instructors; and Volunteer Coordinator

Orient and train new staff about program objectives, teaching methodologies, policies, and procedures

Provide on-going monitoring of ESL Instructors' work

Act as a resource person for instructional staff:

Oversee Teacher Development

Facilitate continuous improvement in instruction on an as-needed basis

Conduct periodic informal teacher observations throughout the school year/provide feedback to teachers

Conduct formal teacher observations annually/provide feedback to teachers

Coordinate program-wide professional development plan including in-services

Connect teachers with resources for professional development

Use monthly lesson plan summaries to monitor progress of instructors regarding overall program and curricular goals

Oversee Curriculum

Provide direction to and facilitate ongoing curriculum development for ESL, Gateway, Job Class, and Citizenship

Ensure integration of Digital Literacy, WIOA, ESL content standards, and other ICCB required curricular elements into WRDA curriculum

Program Administration

Assist in planning, implementing and documenting staff development activities, ensuring compliance with grant stipulations

Work with Education Director in preparing grant applications and reports

Collaborate with local agencies around ESL services

Participate in the World Relief DuPage/Aurora Management Team

Other duties as assigned
